![]() ![]() And I'm pretty sure that quite a few simply don't realize that until someone tells them. I'm not interested in starting a discussion on the validity of that excuse (I'm calling it "excuse" for a reason) - but the point I'm trying to make is: As independent developers, we're actually "just people" like they are - not dead, cold, greedy corporations without a heart. One major excuse for piracy is "because the big corporations are just in it for the money and they are EVIL". Many probably won't - see last paragraph about that -) Tell them you're a game developer just like they are and this is how you make your living and you'd appreciate if they'd pay for your work - and post the link to the asset store to give them a chance to do the right thing conveniently.Īfter all, people pirating software are also just people - and if you approach them with a little respect ( every living creature deserves respect), no judgement, just explaining why you appreciate people paying for what you do and why it's important - some might actually get it. Has anyone ever tried talking to those people? I mean, it's a forum - that's there for discussion.
